Production:av help NFI Acceler8.
August 2008 saw Production:av working for the NFI Wessex region churches on one of those gigs that is a pleasure to be involved with. Acceler8 was held at the New Forrest show ground using a Big Top for the main venue. Production:av were supplying our usual high quality video system to enable the delegates to see the stage party, and relay song words and notices.
Using the Barco CLM R10+ for the main projection, along with the Barco Screen PROII switcher and DVI over Fibre meant that the signal quality and resultant image was as high as possible. Using upto four cameras images to ensure a dynamic mix, with the song words keyed over the top help give a seamless presentation.
We had a great time on site, due to the crew and the organisation. For the first event they had the site and schedule sorted, meaning the crew and delegates had a great time. We’re looking forward to being back for Acceler8 2009.
Lambeth Conference 2008
The Church of England bring all the Bishops together once every 10 years for it’s conference. Production:av were proud to be the suppliers for the Visual systems in the two venues- The Big Top and the The Spouses Venue.
The Big Top
The big top was the main venue for the 3 week long conference. Production:av supplied three projection screens backed by Barco CLM projectors, controlled via the Projector Toolset software to enable remote management. The two side screens with 10,000 lumen CLM R10+ projectors were driven by a Barco Screen Pro II switcher using a DVI over fibre system, taking in a mixed broadcast camera feed provided by Production:av, along with graphics from Apple Hardware running Keynote and visiting speakers laptops.
The central screen was fed from a second Screen Pro II via the Enhanced Output with an HD-SDI signal to the Barco CLM HD8 projector, giving stunning true HD imagery from the various feeds.
A team of 5 oversaw the events through out, ensuring that we wre able to respond to the clients wishes with a minimum of trouble.
The Spouses Venue.
The Spouses venue hosted a varied program of events aimed more at allowing the wives of the bishops to build community. Again Production:av supplied a full system based around the Barco Presentation ProII Digital and the CLM R10+. Powerpoint and songwords were mixed with the camera images from the operated camera system installed for the duration.
The event was a success for the Church of England, and Production:av, and Production:av are grateful to Affinity events and Reelife for choosing to use us. Thanks also to the guys that were on site and made it run so smoothly.
Integrated System makes life easier for Burrswood.
Following the success of the installation in St Matthew’s Tunbridge wells led the facilities team at Burrswood Christian Hospital to contact Production:av to help out with the refurbishment of the Church of Christ the Healer. The church gives the patents and guests at the hospital a space to reflect and relax. The existing system was dated and didn’t provide the best possible output.
After an initial site visit and meeting Production:av drew up a system proposal that included a fully integrated system giving a single control point for the Audio and video elements through a touch screen. The system was then split into two phases:
- Audio System and control elements,
- Video System,
The first phase was commissioned shortly after the initial proposals were submitted, with work fitting into the existing refurbishment schedule.
The installed system was based around the Ikonavs Touch6 touch screen controller, Allen & Heath iDR and EV speakers and amplifiers. The Touch6 Panel was programmed to give the ability to select room layouts and appropriate speaker outputs with minimal effort. Additional input points and refurbishment of existing infrastructure gave new Microphone positions, whilst the installation of new speakers and amplifiers gave a new dimension to the audio reproduced in the services. The audio is also fed to the 40+ patient bedrooms across the site by means of a 100v line system.
Phase Two of the system will see the integration of a video cameras to enable the live video relay to be fed to the bedrooms via a switcher integrated through the touch Screen. These new additions will give the patients a much more inclusive feel, but due to the nature of the control system will be integrated with little fuss or additional user training.
Back for more- National Hunt festival 2008
Another year, and Production:av have the pleasure of supplying services to the National Hunt festival for the third year running. This year a slimmed down production sees the use of Barco R10 projector and 16’x12′ screen for the relay of the live feeds taken directly from the OB vehicles at broadcast standard SDI level.
After the races have run their course, the winners had a chance to celebrate their sucess alongsode those who are drowing their sorrows to a varied selection of comedy shows relayed over the system.
Pony Club AGM 2007
Production:av had the pleasure of supplying technical support to the 2007 Pony Club AGM held at ‘The Centaur’ at Cheltenham Racecourse.
Based around a flown screen with a 10,000 lumen projector providing the images. The show consisted of Powerpoint and embedded video clips operated by a competent Video Engineer and PowerPoint technician. A data switcher was employed to allow the change over from the ‘Show PC’ to ‘Back up PC’ if it was required, however there were no issues that required this facility, due to implementation of properly prepared show PC’s. Stage Monitors allowed for the Top Table to get a good view of the presented material.
This was a yet another show where the Production:av staff were recognised as ‘Professional and Businesslike’, and having played a key part in the ‘smooth running’ of the days proceedings. Many thanks must go to Clare Boardman, Senior Administrative Secretary for the Pony Club, for her praise, but also for being a great client to work for.
Ignition 2007
Production:av spent 4 days in Stratford Park, Stroud for the finale of the Ignition Mission. Providing the Video system along with cameras and Powerpoint and technical support to the event. The event was the last in a series of three,Production:av having supplied the previous two events in September and December 2006. J.John was the main speaker with the Ignition band returning to provide the worship and musical entertainment.
Dual Screen Video System.
Production:av supplied a similar system for the last event as to the previous two. Based around two 5000 Lumen Christie Digital LX50 projectors paired with 10’x7’6″ Fastfold Screens, with an Extron Scaler providing the switching and scaling. The switcher was fed by two cameras, DVD Playback and a Powerpoint PC with back up unit. The two cameras were operated by Production:av camera operators, whilst the show and song words were mixed and called by Pete McCrea. The show was a success with audiences appreciating J.John’s whit and direct approach, as well as the music and interesting testimonies.
